The Shepherds' Play

Now in its sixteenth year, the Shepherds' Play will be performed again at the Union Congregational Church in Peterborough. The play is an abridged version of the Oberufer "Shepherds' Play," a medieval mystery play. This unique play, with its diverse cast, including many people with developmental challenges, is sure to delight and warm hearts.

The play depicts the tale of simple shepherds coming together and leaving their flocks on a cold and dark night to follow a bright star, which leads them to a warm stable filled with wonder and faith. The audience is encouraged to participate in a sing-along which occurs between scenes and tells of the story to come.

This heartfelt performance began as an in-house production following the Monday evening church supper, but has now grown to a community event, drawing a full house. Admission is free. For more information, call Plowshare Farm at 547-2547 or email outreach@plowsharefarm.org.
